What is Everymanhybrid?

disclaimer! I am by no means an expert, and this ramble contains light spoilers!

Everymanhybrid (or EMH as I'm going to be referring to it for the sake of not having to write everymanhybrid 7000 times) was a long-running digital horror series on YouTube. It functioned as an ARG, and while it has stood on different platforms such as Twitter, I don't care. Because I don't have Twitter. And I refuse to give a fact money, so we are going to be ignoring that for the sake of posterity.

Twitter is hell and I will not condemn you to it.

Quick Synopsis, three college boys do as college in the 2010s and start a YouTube workout channel, but there's a twist. This group has put a turn on the classic how to not-wither away-and-die-for-cheap by staging a fake slender man haunting. Unfortunately, they actually pissed off a slender man™ and now our 4(3?) main characters are stuck in a cycle of pain and endless torment because the slender man, his dog, and an overgrown emo teenager/wolf/spider who's always ready to take abortion to the next level if they feel like it. At points, it's genuinely disturbing, gory, funny, and I'm delighted to say a little camp.

Nobody that I know (irl) has any interest in humoring me talking about it because it sounds like it would be the most cringy, unfunny heap of shit to ever run for 8 years. The issue is, I grew up on the internet. I was born and raised here with very little to no outside control. And I was a kid who liked scary stories. So what do you do? You go on yet, and google "creepy stories". So when I get older on the internet, and you have this underlying love for cringe horror written by 12-year-olds, all you can do is step back and try to give something to that community.

off-topic, but I both love and hate sims4. It's a glitchy, horrific to use building sim. (especially because I play on a console) with this cartoon realism that is often be disgusting to look at. But there was one thing I thought I could give back. And for some fucking reason, that was the most ugly shitty fucking looking build of the slender mansion, so people could have a floor plan for fanfic or somewhere to dump their sims without spending hours building an equally disgusting-looking build. So, of course, I want to provide, I want to give back. I am going to do the best I can to make room for every character that has crossed over the screen and keep it as close to public perception as possible. So I'm messaging every moot I have asking their favorite character, a short list of traits and bits, and some Pinterest refs. On and off, I'm working on this build, getting requests and throwing them in.

At some point (don't ask me who), someone sent me a clip collection of HABIT (the aforementioned teenager/wolf/spider). I laughed a good bit, shoved him in the garage because I thought it was funny, took some photos of my oh-so-personally-hated build, and posted it.

Why is this my most popular series.

Well, now I actually need to watch it. So begrudgingly, I pick it up and give it a look. And it's exactly why I built that shitty fucking house that for some reason I'm getting over 300 comments over. People doing whatever they want, when they want to, because they want to. Making art because they feel like it. It's nowhere near perfect, but it's fairly more adult than what I'm used to coming out of this whole thing. it's like I stepped back in time, and found myself in something finally made exactly for me. I get to feel gross, and like shit, and hopeless, but it's still fun! It's okay to be angry or sad, it almost asks you to revel in it. When my whole life every piece of clothing has been just a little too big for me, it finally fit.
